Braces

Andrew got his braces on today. He has a pretty bad underbite so they are working to fix that. He first got an expander and now he's onto the actual braces!

Sunsets

We are enjoying the amazing sunsets here. Such a wonderful reminder of our Creator and all that He's given us.

A Visit from the Schossow Family

Lindy and Comet
Dale, the goat whisperer
We were super excited to have some family over to see the new animals. Everyone (from Jeremy's family) came over (minus AJ, April and Amelie since they had just got out of the hospital) and it was great to have them come and enjoy the animals. Apparently, Comet the goat, thought Lindy was it's mother. And Dale is the goat whisperer. Who knew?!?

The Fence

The fence did not go as smoothly as the barn.  . .but it's done so I guess that's good. The company promised us a 4 man crew . . .one guy showed up with no auger and no materials and said he posted an ad on Craigslist to see if he could find some more help.  Oh boy. I felt bad for the guy because he was doing the best he could do with what he was given. He did finally get the fence finished (not to mention he accidentally ram into one of our fence posts with his truck). Another fence company commented on our fence that he wouldn't pay money for our fence and that it was done terribly.  But, it's holding up at this point, so we are thankful for that and that the goats can roam about.

The Goats are Here!!

Thankfully the barn is done because the goats are here the next day! Who buys goats before they even have a barn? Oh, I guess that would be me. But they are here and so cute! We are loving it!

The Barn!

Our house didn't have a barn with it, so we had to have one built. It was quite a process, but thanks to Jeremy's hard work and planning, it all came together beautifully.  Ben from The Shed Yard ended up building it for us and we were not disappointed. He worked hard, was such a nice guy and we were super impressed. We love our barn!

One of my Favorite Days so far . . .

Ready to Explore

I got the kids some nature workbooks as part of our home school science. We read though some together and they decided to pack their backpacks and go find some things in nature. They found bugs and flowers and found the names of each using their field guide. Then they tried to guess the time of day using the sun  (bc they had read about it in their nature book). After 3 hours, I finally had to make them come in for dinner. It is this kind of learning that I truly love. If only we could learn math the same way!

The Rhino

This is how we get chores done!

We got a used "Rhino" to help us with chores for the upcoming barn and animals. And, of course, it's just fine to drive around!

More Fun

Riding down the hill (Not sure why there is the gray line)
We have been having a great time getting used to living out here. We got a riding lawn mower, which I have to say is actually a ton of fun. I'm thankful Jeremy lets me help mow. :)
The newest thing the kids have found to do is to take the trikes and a big dump truck and riding them down the hill on the side of the house. And they love going down to the "creek" to find yet more frogs.

On the lawn mower (and very dirty)

A Hawk right outside my bedroom window

Our kitchen table passed down. Where the leaves go, there is Lyle Schossow's
name and address written on a piece of paper. So cool.
